Isabel Bader Theatre

Our summit venue is located on University of Toronto’s downtown campus and is an annual home to the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Isabel Bader Theatre is a modern building built for learning and entertaining and we’re stoked to be hosting Design Leadership Summit here.

Program

November 4 & 5, we have two full days of talks featuring best-in-class design leaders who’ve led design at some of the fastest-growing tech companies and helped transform design and product at large traditional organizations.
On November 6th, we have tailored workshops for leaders at all stages & roles — for those newly stepping into a leadership role, learning to manage expectations and sell the value of design, and/or amplifying and scaling a design org.

DesignX is one of the fastest growing design communities across North America. We intend to bring together all design disciplines at the intersection of business, design and technology. I do not manage or lead a team. Can I attend the Design Leadership Summit?

Though the content and programming of the summit is focused exclusively on folks currently managing and leading design and/or product teams, we do have some tickets reserved for emerging leaders. You can apply for our emerging leaders tickets here: https://designleadership.io/emerging-leaders/

Why are the summit prices in USD?

Though the summit is taking place in Toronto, Canada – it’s aimed at design leaders across our DesignX community reach in Toronto, Vancouver, New York, San Francisco, London, Amsterdam and beyond. Since we do not have a sophisticated website and ticketing platform integrations that can localize the currency, we decided to use USD as the standard currency for everyone.

Hopefully, we have more resources next year to have a better way to localize the currencies for our different customer groups across multiple geographies.

What is the cancellation policy, in case something comes up and I cannot attend anymore?

While the time is going to fly by fast, we do understand it’s tough to estimate your workload, schedule, and life in advance.
You can get a 100% refund if you cancel up to a month before the summit. You can also request a 50% refund up to two weeks before the summit.

What does the summit price include?

Your ticket includes not only access to the conference, but breakfast, lunch, and two snacks on both days. You’ll also get access to the DLS official party, some way cool swag, and all the fun activities we have planned at the event.

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Downtown Toronto has a lot of hotel options, for different neighborhoods, budgets, and preferences. We’ve also partnered with Marriott’s Westin Harbour Castle (a 4-star hotel right on the Ontario Lake) and located close to CN tower and other tourist attractions, to get you exclusive discounted prices. Email us and we can pass on the details to you.

How long should I stay in Toronto

The conference is on Nov. 4 & Nov. 5, i.e. Monday & Tuesday. We recommend coming to Toronto, latest by Nov. 3rd, so you can be part of the opening keynote at the summit on Nov 4th. We’ll also have an after-party on Nov. 5th and all workshops will be planned for Nov 6th.

I need a visa in order to come to Toronto for the Design Leadership Summit. Can you help with this?

Yes, we can write you a letter of recommendation for you to apply for a visa. Email events@designx.community your name, business address, and ticket order number. Please check with your local government office for any visas waiting periods. If for some reason you cannot obtain a visa, we will refund your ticket.
